Croatia is truly a camping destination as more than 2 million of camping enthusiasts have recognized it and visit Croatia every year. Campers today make one third of all the visitors to Croatia. The climate in Croatia is typical Mediterranean with pleasant warm summers and mild springs and autumns, which allows most campsites to stay open from April till October every year.

It has come a long way from a tent on a muddy field, gas lanterns and mosquitos, with campers having to walk to the nearest woods to find a toilet… Nowadays it is a bit different. Although an occasional mosquito can be found, the rest can pretty much be compared to staying in a hotel or apartment complex, but with a direct contact with the nature and in most cases directly by the sea.

All of the campsites are modern, well-equipped and hospitable, usually with their own beach. Depending on your preferences, you get to choose from many different types of accommodations, such as tents, caravans, apartments, bungalows or mobile homes.

Most campsites in Croatia have a variety of shops within the complex, as well as restaurants, pizzeria’s, fast food outlets etc.

Sanitary facilities in all campsites in Croatia meet European Standards and are equipped with baby changing tables, cabins suitable for disabled people, as well as single washing cabins. Middle category Croatian campsites also have special showers for your pet’s hygiene. No additional charge for hot water usage.

Apart from the vicinity of the sea and in many cases swimming pools, there are many sport and recreation facilities at your disposal.

Get the information at the campsites reception desk which are the excursions you can go to while staying there.  Many campsites are situated near Croatian cultural heritage sites, which is no wonder, having in mind that seven Croatian localities are registered in the UNESCO list of World Heritage monuments. Some of the historic cities are Dubrovnik, Split, Porec, Pula and Trogir, where you can get a reasonable dose of Croatian history and culture.
